The newest winery in the Adelaide Hills

On Sunday 9th November, the state of the art Adelaide Hills Winery was opened by Mark Goldsworthy MP. Friends, family and invited guests enjoyed an afternoon of light refreshments.

Beginning as a concept in 2001 Andrew Taylor and Peter Michelmore saw the winery opened with style on a beautiful sunny November Adelaide Hills day.

Brendon Keys' experience, new ideas and enthusiasm as a winemaker are being used to create a vibrant range of wines.

A short history

Started by Andrew Taylor and Peter Michelmore as a concept in 2001 the winery is now finally on the ground. The intervening years were spent planning and obtaining approvals to build a premium facility for the Adelaide Hills.

The winemaker, Brendon Keys, is a New Zealander who has worked in Argentina, Europe, America and Australia. He has some new ideas and lots of enthusiasm for making excellent wine.

The winey has been designed to handle the fruit with the utmost care while maintaining efficiency in operation and providing that little bit extra for making good wine.

There are three rooms with individual temperature control for cool or warm storage of fruit or wine. The wastewater treatment plant is large enough to handle all the wastewater from the winery and allows treatment of other Hills wineries' wasterwater as well. The treated water will be used in the vineyard rather than being pumped out to sea.
